The story follows Li Nian, a young woman orphaned during a massacre, who is rescued and trained by the stoic General Mu Ci. Bound by loyalty and unrequited love, Li Nian becomes Mu Ci's protege and lover, despite his emotional detachment rooted in a past tied to Princess Lingxi. When Mu Ci is tasked with escorting the princess-who bears an uncanny resemblance to Li Nian-to marry a northern tribal leader in exchange for military aid, tensions escalate. Li Nian, disguised as the princess, sacrifices herself to ensure the mission's success, only to realize Mu Ci's enduring devotion to Lingxi. The narrative culminates in a bittersweet battlefield demise and Li Nian's forced marriage to the tribal chief, underscoring themes of identity, sacrifice, and the futility of war. The prose blends visceral combat scenes with poetic introspection, painting a haunting portrait of love distorted by duty and the cost of survival in a fractured world.

It's just a story that will keep you indulge in the real world of so called perfections, real family and pissimistic idea of pure character in Muslim families. This will remind you the life of individuals in a male dominant society who interpret and relate Quran and Sunnah according to their views (which actually suit to their own ideas). Let me remind you, this novel is not like other FANTASY. It's REALITY that muslim women are facing in the name ISLAM I dedicate this novel to all women specially my mother. THANKYOU, I will be waiting for support.

I don't own Shakespeare or Macbeth (obviously) however I think this little "sequel" if you will, play along really well with it, and hopefully if you take the time to read this all, it will open your mind to a few things. Enjoy!!! -Ellee Bush

Rhyming, 5-stanza storyline poems, each seemingly following an everyday plot until the very last line. All of the poems are about acceptable, common ideology in society, with huge, norm-breaking twists at the end. This shows how we never really can expect what happens under the surface-or on the surface.

This story, Padmaja, is a compelling and emotional narrative that weaves together themes of resilience, familial struggles, societal expectations, and the quiet strength of a young girl navigating a harsh world. The tale begins with a chilling interrogation scene where Padmaja, a stoic and enigmatic figure, endures relentless questioning under police custody, refusing to reveal her secrets. Her name is finally revealed in a moment of vulnerability, setting the stage for a deeper exploration of her past. The story transitions to the year 1989, diving into Padmaja's life as a teenager in a conservative village where rigid societal norms govern every aspect of life. Her mother, Hemlata, is a strict yet loving figure who prioritizes education and discipline for her daughters, striving to protect them from a patriarchal society that constantly tries to clip their wings. Despite her mother's efforts, Padmaja faces internal turmoil, haunted by her strained relationship with her father, who shows her inexplicable neglect, and an uncomfortable fear of her opportunistic uncle, Hanif. As the layers of Padmaja's life unfold, her vulnerability contrasts sharply with her inner strength. She grapples with societal pressures, her mother's unyielding expectations, and her own emotions. Moments of warmth, such as her playful younger sister Purna's innocence, balance the tense and darker elements of the story, creating a rich tapestry of human relationships and struggles. Ultimately, Padmaja is a poignant exploration of a young woman's resilience against injustice, her fight for identity in a world of complex family dynamics, and the quiet battles she faces while striving to protect herself and her loved ones. It is a story of courage, endurance, and the silent strength that often goes unnoticed.
