Under the smog-heavy skies of a decaying city, five souls wander through life, each carrying burdens too heavy to bear. Emil, a disillusioned teacher, drowns in regret and insomnia. Nina, a silent girl, teeters on the edge of life and death. Amir, a pawn in a brutal system, battles the duality of his choices. Maria, a grieving mother, prays for answers that will never come. And a stray dog, silent but observant, seems to understand the invisible thread that binds them. Their lives collide in a haunting tale of isolation, corruption, and the faintest glimmer of hope. But as they navigate the darkness of their city and their hearts, something sinister stirs in the shadows-something that feeds on their despair and threatens to consume what little remains of their humanity.

This is just going to be points of societal issues that I see and think people should know about. Hopefully, I can change your view on our world and how it works!

Hiya Babes!!!! this is just a little book of my essays that i make purely for my own amusement and poems, all written by me (ofc), all expressing my emotions and thoughts on different topics. I'm mostly doing this to see if: A. people enjoy my poetry and ideas and/or find it decent, or at least decent enough to share. B. A poem about racial injustice in modern society

Pearl has never fit in to her society of mermaid-like creatures. Now that Growing Time is approaching, Pearl wonders if she will be chosen to dance with the famous Old Ones. After losing their mother, Aryan and Meera struggle under the cruelty of their new stepmother, Kavya, who manipulates their grieving father and makes life difficult for the siblings. Despite the harsh treatment, Aryan and Meera find solace in their memories of their late mother. One night, under a full moon, they reflect on her love, realizing that while she may be gone, her presence still guides them. The story sheds light on the pain of loss, the resilience of children, and the societal issues of manipulation and neglect within families.

A historical fiction mirroring the dangers of our world.

I don't really know where this would go. I just did it to past time and train my english. I enjoy doing it. I hope I get better at this.

This isn't really a story so much as just my thoughts about life and the things that I notice. I might also go over certain subjects such as: death, suicide, sexual orientation, etc. Please don't be afraid to point out any errors, I appreciate the help. Please note that I'm new to writing these and that I won't have an update schedule. I don't own the cover art and will tell you if a picture is mine. I will also try to read and respond to as many comments as possible.

A boat. A heart. A promise. The Feisty Fiona hasn't left her dock in nearly twenty years. Her captain, Sean O'Dea, a curmudgeonly bachelor now facing a fatal diagnosis, is on another downward spiral when his wayward, eighteen-year-old niece, Marin, shows up out of nowhere. With his life once again thrown off course, he reluctantly invites Marin to stay with him for the summer. While Sean navigates his new normal and a burgeoning friendship with his doctor, the recently widowed Laura, Marin ends up befriending Laura's adopted son, Teddy, an intellectual headed to Harvard in the fall. As an African American raised by white parents in a predominantly white town, he feels kindred to Marin in a way he's never before experienced. Born with a heart condition, a miracle delivered him through infancy. His deep philosophical thoughts, longing to find his birth parents, and the feeling he's never fully belonged, forges an even stronger bond between him and the shy, artistic Marin. During this summer of enlightenment, Teddy's bigoted grandmother, Shirley, is experiencing her own awakening and redemption. But a dark secret and a decades-old promise cause their worlds to collide in a way beyond mere serendipity and edging on destiny, as each realizes what it truly means to be part of the bigger world where we're all connected and we all belong to one another.

Each chapter is a short story using colors to symbolize and explain the ideas of different social issues. The hope is to convey the importance of acceptance and normalizing minorities in society who are discriminated against for no other reason than the fact the they differ from what popular culture has determined as the norm of today's globalized world.

Kagiso-Dylan has always been a girl who conformed to the rules and always played it safe even though she has always felt that she didn't really fit in. When she arrives at university and reunites with someone from her past, she questions whether her whole life has been shaped by her parent's orders or according to her own free will. With her new found freedom she explores the party lifestyle and romance. By observing situations and relationships around her, she begins to discover who she really is, without the influence of societal values, her parents and her old peers.

Some short stories based on societal issues. A voice that has to be raised but we usually don't speak because of the phrase "WHAT WILL PEOPLE SAY" and taboos ruling our society.

We often are said be hideous towards our scars, stretch marks, acne spots and many more... But do we really need to do it?? And on this basis, I present you with a poem, on what's been said to a girl when faced with scars. Hope you like it, and do leave your comment after reading it ✌🥰😌
