Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1967: a town carved clean down the middle. On the West Side, the grass is always greener, the streets are always clean, and the Socs live like socialites with better clothes, better cars, and better lives. On the East Side, rundown buildings lean under broken window panes, dead cars sit idle in dusty yards, and the greasers are left watching their side of town fall apart while the other gets built up. Henry Eastwood is a seventeen-year-old greaser who knows how the world works when you're born on the wrong side of the tracks. Grace Merrick is a seventeen-year-old Soc girl raised on the side of town where all the girls are pretty, and the guys are always mean. They're not supposed to cross paths because in Tulsa, a Soc with a greaser is never right, but when they do, lines blur, loyalties shake, relationships clash, a war is declared, and feelings grow in a town that swears they shouldn't.

This isn't your average fanfic. People have landed on Mars for the eleventh time yesterday, and a new machine is introduced today in the year 2105. Life is easy and beautiful, until my father passed away, my brother abandoned me, and I became homeless. I'm just a teenager, who wishes to one day live in the world of the Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. I read the ancient book before and instantly fell in love with Dallas Winston and his un-perfect life. Almost nobody reads anymore except for those who are poor. My great-great-great grandmother wrote about what she thought life would be like in the future in a journal. But it's nothing like that, people don't stare at screens and tech for days, life isn't dystopian or depressing either. Anyways, I am super excited to be the lucky group of people to use the new machines that let you escape reality, forever. And I want to choose to live in the world of the Outsiders. (Hi! This story was a HUGE project for me, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I hope you do.) (This book is reader x Dallas Winston. All credits to S.E. Hinton and her book).

The people of Tulsa are divided by two social classes, Socs and Greasers. While Socs is the wealthier class, Greasers are the less fortunate ones. Marlene Evans, a soc, finds herself falling for a greaser, Ponyboy Curtis. But, her older brother's gang has a heated rivalry with Ponyboy's gang. How will she work this forbidden relationship out?

My name is Lexi. That's pretty much the only thing I know about myself. I ran away from my family awhile ago and have been running around the states for almost a year now. Honestly I don't even know where I am at this point. The only thing I have to call my own is my dads old torn up leather jacket and my muddy blue jeans. The only thing I'm proud of is the fact that I'm still alive.

Growing up in the Curtis home, this automatically marks Hazel as a greaser herself. She there learns how to defend herself, while still acting like a young lady 😉. And she also questions if she likes being seen as a greaser or not. She also goes through life changing events that mold her into the smart, amazing young lady that the greaser gang boys fall in love with. (As a little sister that is.)
