MAYA REYES was a bit of a screw up. I mean, she was nice, kind, and occasionally funny, but when it came to being a demigod, she kind of sucked. She couldn't wield her powers for shit, had the hand-eye coordination of a blind bat with scoliosis, and was more likely to get into a spirited debate with a monster than kill one. Considering the fact that her camp highlight was Dionysus coming up to her in the middle of dinner one night and saying, "that one's mine," before walking off for more Diet Coke, she didn't think the Oracle would be giving her a quest any time soon. So, Maya gets used to the shadows. Climbing up onto the roof of the Big House during pegasus riding to sneak in a few naps, drawing stick figures into the dirt during capture the flag, and totally not staring at Percy Jackson whenever he comes to camp. But, when the prospect of war comes to the borders of camp and the Labyrinth reopens, Maya finds herself thrown out of the shadows and into the limelight of a quest with people she's only ever heard about in camp, including Percy. Drawing stick figures may be hard, but going on a quest is even harder, and Maya finds herself questioning her worth as the weight of the world rests on her shoulders. This story is a twist with The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and the TV series H2o just add water. Hope you enjoy! Also they gangs appearances will be based off of the movies before the whole murder, running away, and church fire. None of that happens in this story. Also the main characters name is pronounced Cameron or Camryn just with a K.
