She moved on to the Eastern side of town where the Greasers ruled since she couldn't afford to live on the West side. There, she met Sodapop Curtis at the gas station he worked at. He was the most attractive man Shirley had ever seen. When she also becomes friends with a sweet Johnny Cade, she realizes how small her new town is as she constantly runs into who everyones calls 'the sweetheart Greaser'.

It's now the calm within the storm for the East Side Greasers. Johnny survived the fire, him and Dally are alive. Ponyboy is mustering up his courage to ask out Cherry Valance to be his lover. And everyone else from the Curtis gang is moving on with life. Soda on the other hand is going through a crisis no one else sees. Ever since Sandy cheated on him he hasn't been the same, he is convinced that love is dead. But love is only sleeping at the moment. It wasn't until one day he and his best friends Steve and Two-Bit had an altercation with some Socs at a Record Store, and amongst them was the new boy from Orosi, California. And from that point on, Soda somehow forgot about Sandy. I low-key hate it but nothing I can do abt cuz if i restart my friend will get pissy IMPORTANT so first off in this story johnny and dally are still alive obvi and everything else still happened and Johnny made it out of the hospital fine with no injuries but he had to wear a back brace which might be mentioned later on this story takes place a month or so that Johnny came out of the hospital and he is fully recovered --- (Actual desc) Since after being in the church, 14 year old ponyboy Curtis has had these feelings for his best friend, Johnny Cade.
