Caleb Santiago Reyes only talks to God when no one is listening.
Not in church. Not out loud. Only in the quiet corner of his home, sitting on an upside-down bucket in the laundry area, whispering words he is not sure anyone hears.
Caleb is tired. Of rejection emails. Of pretending he is fine. Of waiting for a sign that never comes. Faith feels like silence, and silence feels like being forgotten.
Then there is Isla. His best friend. Too loud, too honest, and always there when Caleb wants to disappear. She believes silence does not mean absence, and she refuses to let Caleb face the dark alone.
As life keeps breaking and healing in small ways, Caleb learns something he never expected. That God may not answer the way people want. That silence can stay without leaving. That hope can be quiet and still real.
