Short Story 1 Jack Kilver was the greatest adventurer in human history. Once he heard of a place that was so harsh that not even the terrible monsters outside the city dared not to go into it he knew he must be the first. He would accomplish the impossible Unfortunately, things never go as planned. Short Story 2 Things has been changing in the city ever since the new of Jack Kilver. Especially Emily's work, the company built by the woman who has moved humanity further in the future. She feels more devoted and passionate about her work. She just can't figure out why... Short Story 3 In a place where the trees block out all sunlight, there is a lonely building. Within this building, you'd find all manner of monsters and beasts. Sometimes, even monsters want to go where every one knows their name. Short Story 4 Lily lived a happy but simple life in her village, despite the war against the magical beasts of world still raging. When the war finally reaches the village, she expected her life to end with her family. She never expected a man to appear and offer her a deal. Tales Of Wonder are short stories that are tied in to a novel I've had in my head for years. They are related to the novel and each other. These stories are mainly to motivate me and to test out different writing styles. Each short story will be written in different styles. They take place in a world where magic and science combine. The first story here, I admit leaves the rules of the world and how everything works a little vague but each short story will add more and eventually the novel will tie up the magic system. Any feedback is welcomed. Of course, let me know if you want more stories.

When Isabella Branson receives a letter tellling her she's inherited her estranged aunt's teashop in a town no one remembers, her life kind of wrecks itself. After a dangerously impulsive decision and a just-as-dangerous drive into fog, she arrives in Rosewick. It's overwhelming, magical, surrounded by fog that Isabella swears is sentient and all too charming. Especially for a town built on a leyline that's becoming dangerously unstable. If her move to a town where spells come as easy as breathing and familiars that like to walk through drying paint wasn't enough, now Isabella has to deal with the seal her aunt maintained for decades as it weakens and begins to disrupt the leyline. And when professor Katherine Ellsworth makes her clumsy introduction, guiding Isabella with history facts, quiet evening conversations and shared chuckles over late night pastries in Camille's bakery, Isabella starts to find out Rosewick might have a whole different layer of magic to it. Milk Teeth & Moon Sugar follows Vesper Retchley, a dry-witted, sharp-eyed apartment witch with a talent for quiet magic and a habit of writing things down before they slip through the cracks. Her apartment isn't much - creaky floorboards, a stubborn kettle, a cat with too many opinions, and two pigeons who gossip more than they fly-but it's hers. And it's where the magic settles: not in spells or spectacle, but in small nudges, warm rituals, and the soft reshaping of everyday life. Vesper doesn't chase adventure. She brews tea, listens closely, and occasionally corners a neighbor in the hallway to help them get their life back on track. She writes not for fame, but because the world is always saying too much-and she needs a quiet place to answer back. This is a story about the magic tucked between the lines of ordinary life. Cozy, clever, and a little offbeat, it's perfect for anyone who knows that even the smallest moments can carry a touch of wonder.

Steven didn't ask to become extraordinary. He asked for a quiet life, decent coffee, and not to lose the people he cares about. When magic, monsters, and ancient rules collide with everyday life, Steven chooses restraint over spectacle and love over guarantees. Alongside Pixel - a genie who refuses to be a safety net - he navigates a world where power doesn't solve everything, and surviving intact is its own kind of victory. A grounded urban fantasy about choice, consequence, and what comes after everything breaks.

Aeralune is a living world sustained by emotion, memory, and balance. When its people heal, the world thrives. When grief festers, the land fractures. For centuries, its survival has rested in the hands of three guardians who walk unseen among the realms. Zoom, a healer whose warmth mends both body and spirit, believes compassion is Aeralune's last hope. Frostwyn, bound to ancient duty and ice-cold restraint, hears the world's sickness before it speaks. And Kael, bearer of living fire, feels every sorrow Aeralune carries even the one he has never healed within himself. As floating cities falter and entire islands begin to decay, the Seraphim Ark calls them toward a truth long avoided: Aeralune is not dying from external war or corruption. It is unraveling from unreleased grief. To save the world, the guardians must confront the wounds they have hidden behind power, duty, and silence. But healing Aeralune may demand something none of them are prepared to give the surrender of what they have been protecting most. Because in Aeralune, holding on too tightly is just as dangerous as letting go. And the world can no longer endure their masks.

In the back of a forgotten library, Seralyth found a note tucked in a book and a presence who saw her without explanation. A series of echoes. This is where it all began.

When I was reading a book series, I got carried away with so many of the things in canon. Taking place after the aftershock of the War of the Ember, I wish to tell a tale of the displaced owls of Kuneer, a tale of a fight over the fates of hagsfiends' reincarnations, a tale of the fallout of the H'rathgar Glacier Cataclysm, a tale of the Ice Bridge from beyond the Beyond, a tale of how the creatures of the Kingdom of Ambala adapt to their changing world: a tale of owls and snakes and more who laugh and cry and wish and learn, in kingdoms almost entirely their own, far from the forests of Tyto where we first saw the Ga'Hoole world. ⚠⚠ The original lore for the series seems at best insensitive and at worst weirdly racist at times when it comes to its in-story cultures and backstories "inspired" by real ones. This story can't be much better, as I'm the wrong person to write it, so reader discretion is advised. ⚠ As a fanfiction, this has spoilers for a series, but you probably aren't going to read the series anyway.

What if magic never died? What if it built cities in the sky? When Olga and her daughter Tanyusha hide from war in a cold Kyiv basement, they expect darkness. Instead, they find light. A door. And a world that shouldn't exist. Here, electricity was never invented. Here, magic powers skyships and healing stones, and people speak through crystal-bound communicators. Here, dragons sleep in the clouds, and the lost cities of Atlantis never sank. They've crossed into a mirror year-2022, but not theirs. And there's no way back. As the sky-borne nation faces growing unrest, Tanyusha may hold a power no one expected. And Olga must let go of everything she once believed... or risk losing her daughter to a world that already feels like home.

The kingdom of Averlayne was built on silence. On secrets. On a power no one dared to name. Prince Louis has spent his life learning how to be small - how to bow, how to obey, how to carry the weight of a crown that never truly belonged to him. His mother's magic is gone. His father's love is distant. And the darkness rising beneath the kingdom is something no one speaks of aloud. Until it begins to awaken. Harry has never wanted glory. Raised by labor and sharpened by loss, he knows only how to protect - even when it costs him everything. When fate draws him into the palace and into Louis' orbit, he discovers that some bonds are older than prophecy... and far more dangerous. As shadows gather and a forgotten power stirs, the two are forced to confront a truth neither expected: That love may be the strongest magic of all - and the only thing capable of breaking the chains binding their world.

In the twilight forests of Feyndral, where songs can wake seeds and roots remember every kindness, a young Groveborn named Rin faces a simple problem that refuses to stay small. His ceremonial vine won't climb the festival arch, and every piece of the forest wants something first-the soil, the stream, the moss, even the beetles. What begins as one child's stubborn task grows into a song that stirs the whole forest, reminding Feyndral that growth is never solitary. A gentle Sylren folktale filled with light, rhythm, and the whisper of living roots. Perfect for readers who love soft magic, forest lore, and stories where patience and kindness carry the greatest power.
