Much less responded in the world of one of her favorite mangas, Fruits Basket. There's still eleven years before the beginning of the story, so Tanaka decides to take things into her own hands, and keeping the horrible events in the manga from happening. Whilst trying to keep the characters of the original story from going through the pain they've gone through, Tanaka thrusts herself into pain. But also, love.

-Hikari Hayami was determined to stay with her best friend, Tohru, no matter what. Even if that meant moving out of their shared tent in the woods and into the Sohma house. Her only purpose was to keep a very jarring promise to Kyoko Honda, to whom she owed her daughter a debt larger than life. Little did she know she would help two cousin rivalries open their hearts to her and face their fears. Yuki (son of the sea and storm god) and Kyo (son of the sun goddess and pervious phoenix king) will protect Tohru at all cost. How will her destiny prevail? The meeting of Momiji Sohma and his wife.

This is a melancholy love story of grown up momiji & tohru, crossing paths again, 3 years after kyo & tohru left together, nothing in the original story changed, except momiji did confess to tohru to get his feelings off his chest, at least once before she leaves, but he knew she wouldn't stay or feel the same way. I will include his confession in a flashback, but the story starts 3 years after the fact & won't relive anything else from the original story since nothing else changed WARNING: This story does including alcoholism, abuse, violence, ptsd, cheating & is kind of sad & geared towards older readers, since it deals with heavier emotions & pretty serious things that happen often in real life & relationships but that people cover up and don't talk about. It does have romance but as always I keep my story's clean, so nothing over a PG-13 rating I'd say. last thing is kyo will be OOC from the manga/anime ending, but 3 years is a long time & in real life people do change & stuff happens, so I see it as completely plausible & not too much of a stretch personally, but it may bother some hardcore kyo fans so fair warning if anyone was curious about the title, it is a taylor swift song, I was listening to it after watching the final episode of fruits basket & got images rushing through my mind of a melancholy encounter between momiji & tohru years down the road & it made me cry & I just had to write it down, it just came to me out of nowhere (so thank you God for giving me this story ^.^) I do not own the fruits basket characters nor do I own the taylor swift song this story was written to, inspired by & named after. please support taylor swift by buying her music & fruits basket by watching the anime & reading the manga.
