Over 100 years ago, Azulon's younger sister, Princess Azami, disappeared while on a trip to visit the Earth Kingdom city of Ba Sing Se. Her entire ship vanished without a trace, and the fate of the young Princess was never determined. Until now. Present day; the Fire Nation is winning the war against the Earth Kingdom and the Water Tribes. The Avatar has finally returned, after a century in hiding, and with him comes someone the world had long believed dead. How will the the Princess react to a world at war, when she never even knew it happened? --- Book 1; Finished. Book 2; In progress. Note; My first fanfic so tbh expect at least some, if not a lot of cringe writing. I wholeheartedly welcome any criticism to help improve the writing or the narrative, just try and avoid outright bashing of the story if you can. This will largely follow the plot of ATLA, with probably only a little deviation in the main story. Don't expect a word-for-word repeat though, as I'll often want to add a twist to work within the narrative I'm trying to tell. Also worth noting that I am going to mess with the canon a LITTLE, just to help fit the context of the story. As with any and all ATLA fics, I solely own Azami and her character, everything else belongs to the original creators of ATLA. Book 2 but if it was filled with Zutara fluffiness, Sokka's sarcasm, Toph's roughness, Aang's childish worries, Sage's sass, and of course, tea! All invasion plans, libraries, and lake laogai put aside for awhile to enjoy Ba Sing Se without Long feng's Dai Le, Joo Dee's bulging eyes, and Guru Pathik's chakras. Enjoy it while you still have it! Oh! And btw, Sage is Zuko's youngest sister, and horray LuTen's alive!

Long ago, on the southern air temple, before the war had begun. Two teens were kept safe. Who were in love and prospered together. Aang and Niruh were formidable air benders who were always together. When they would merely play around during training, monk Gyatso would only chuckle at them. On their sixteenth birthdays, the monks planned to marry the two. They had no idea that a war was about to start and that Aang would be told what his future held. The only person who could end the battle was Aang, the Avatar. He was in denial when the Monks told him. He found it hard to believe. Gysatso and Niruh made an effort to console him. That, however, was unable to stop what the monks had in mind for Aang. They were about to transfer him to a sister temple, but when he heard them, he immediately fled with Niruh. Niruh had mounted her bison Akiri while Aang got onto Appa, the two ran together leaving their home behind, not knowing what was about to happen. But the two teens had been trapped in a storm, Akiri and Appa had fallen from the dark sky. The only light Aang and Niruh had to see was lightning, giving the sky an uneasy resemblance to the daytime. As they were pulled under the water by a large wave crashing on top of them, the last memory Niruh had was Aang holding her as his tattoos glowed, and then it went black...

Over the years, the Fire Nations dominance has only increased. With this increased power created more sinister Fire Lords. This began three generations of monsters, starting with Fire Lord Sozin, who was able to orchestrate the Air Nomad Genocide, wiping all airbenders out of existence. Then his son Azulon rose to power continuing the cycle of cruelty, and then Azulon's youngest son took the throne, Ozai, the current Fire Lord, Ozai is a cruel and vindictive man who must be stopped. The current Fire Lord has three children. The eldest being a son, Zuko, better known as the banished prince, and the twins, Azula who is the older twin, and the gem of the Fire Nation, Kadeia. Ozai had made a crucial mistake, with his youngest, he did in fact, attempt to shape her in his image, but he forced her to become the monster she is today, and the resentment the teen holds for her father is immense, she often remembers the words she had been told as a little girl... "In our family, your own blood can be your greatest enemy." ⚠️Odviously I don't own anything other than the few OC's I have in the book.
