She prays
With eyes open
She stays
In the same moment for months on end
She prays with darkness lingering around waiting for a relapse
She prays looking down hoping a hand will lift her now descended chin
Breathe in
Not alive just breathing
Then Alive but dead inside
This perpetual sentence an indefinite plane she isolates herself in
Opening the pack of anti depressants more than she opens her own eyes
Those tired eyes
Those black and blue, overworked but never retired eyes
Those I've seen the world with you and can't imagine it without you eyes
Those mascara lines draining the darker parts of her soul but never fully cleansing it
Those hopeful eyes
Now windows with prickly vines entangled around handle bars
no one can come inside
No one can see what's behind the crimson blinds
No one is around when they close and the show's over
This light shines but she won't let it in
Please let it in
