"It's a different world, from where ya come from."-It's A Different World
That statement sadly becomes more and more true for 17 year old Aisha Campbell when she more than happily hops, skips, and jumps right the hell out of her strung-out father's life and into her mother's, and realizes that not everything is what it's all cracked up to be in the suburbs.

Whenever I used to get in trouble at school when I was younger my dad always came to my defense saying,
"She's just a good girl in a very bad world."
My mom however, always used to go ballistic saying,
"Do you have any idea what this could do to her student record, Hakeem?"
My mother was never easy on me. Everyday she would come home from work. Mad. At me. At the time I had no idea why, but as I got older I figured out that she saw supposedly, "too" much of my father in me.
Which I didn't know was such a bad thing until she got into extremely messy divorce with him, in the process of it all taking my younger brother, Earl and my sister Tiffany.
She couldn't take me, obviously.
I was "already enrolled" in school and she didn't want to take me away from any of my "friends."
Like I had any because of her ass.
I'm on a plane to the Massachusetts suburbs, much different from my hood back in Atlanta to live with my mother, who I haven't seen in years, because all of a sudden she loves me.
It's not like I have any choice though, I wouldn't be able to stay in ATL because pops decided he was too worried about his next fix than where I lay my head at night.
Pray for ya girl.
