This is one of my earlier works, which was published in the Spring 2015 issue of Mad Scientist Journal.

Alex's life changes spontaneously. One minute she's sitting in algebra class and the next she's meeting her long lost sister. It's not long after that Alex is kidnapped by the leader of the songbird killers (humans that kill the people who can change into birds). Alex falls for two different guys, one who's a songbird killer and one who's a songbird himself.

I don't usually write poetry but I wrote this for the National Library contest. It's actually taken from lyrics of a song in my story "The Land of Green and Gold".

Rose lives in a world of hate, deception, and music. The Kingdom of Song is powered by song and is home to the richest and most talented. The Songbird is a small popular venue in downtown Nashville, It has become a very popular spot for local bands and for youth music education, The owner Beckett is level headed bassist who meets Daniel Wagner, the drummer of Greta Van Fleet after a show. After much talking they find many invisible strings that lead them back to each other.
