Modern Au: [Volume 1: Hidden Heritage Legacy of the Wind] Sonic's sixteenth birthday begins as the perfect celebration-music blaring, friends laughing, and family filling every corner of his parents' home. Surrounded by the people who have always stood by his side, Sonic enjoys a rare moment of peace, free from battles and danger. For once, life is simple. But when an old photograph is uncovered by accident, that peace shatters. The image shows two unfamiliar hedgehogs holding a baby Sonic in their arms-faces he doesn't recognize, yet somehow feels deeply connected to. As questions rise, the truth is finally revealed: Jules and Bernadette are not Sonic's biological parents. They raised him as their own after his birth parents vanished when he was only a year old. Those parents were Sora and Acira-heroes known as the Knight of the Wind and the Queen of Freedom. Legends who disappeared while facing a threat too great to survive, leaving their son behind to protect him. As Sonic confronts the weight of this revelation, everything about him begins to make sense-his speed, his love of freedom, his unbreakable spirit. He hasn't lost his parents. He has inherited their legacy. And with that legacy comes a promise. Someday, Sonic will uncover the truth of what happened to them... and follow the wind that binds his past to his destiny.
