There they are discovered by the Mobian mercenary group called The Freedom Fighters, led by the former princess, Sally Acorn. Her and her finite group of warriors fight against the remnants of their world's Robotnik's empire, led by Snively Robotnik. But it's a losing battle, and to make things worse, Eggman crashes onto this world as well, and is recruited by Snively and team up to exterminate The Freedom Fighters and Sonic the Hedgehog once and for all. Can Sonic and his friends adapt to this mysterious new world where all the odds are stacked against them? Will the Freedom Fighters have the courage to team up with Team Sonic? Or are they all doomed by the overwhelming might of Eggman's new and improved empire?

Much like how Sonic Underground: Reimagined serves as a Sonic underground reboot, this story is serving as a reboot to the old Sonic SatAM cartoon from the same era of TV essentially.
