Some ancient being keeps trying to recruit him, but he declines. He grows hard, cold, and menacing. But will he finally get recruited, will someone change his iron heart. Artemis is conflicted. The dying wish of one of her retired hunters, Sally Jackson, is for her to take care of Sally's child. The only problem; the said child is a boy. A VERY powerful boy, but a boy nonetheless. And Artemis doesn't help boys. She's the maiden goddess after all! But, something in her mind is urging her to take care of a dying woman's son, as her last wish. Or maybe her motherly instincts have finally kicked in for a boy, for the first time in so many years. The only time she felt this protective was when a girl we in trouble, yet, she feels protective over the child and decides to take him in. Read as she goes through the struggles of being a secret mother (with the help of her hunters, and a few goddesses, of course), a goddess, Apollo's twin, and the leader of the Hunters of Artemis all at the same time. How will she cope? Will Artemis be able to raise a child, and still be able to keep him a secret from her father? Or will the delicate web of lies that she has oh-so-carefully woven, collapse in a single gust of wind? And what happens when Percy's unique powers spiral out of control? And when Percy's father shows up out of the blue, bringing with him news about a powerful enemy. Will Percy, with his family and friends be able to defeat said enemy, or will the earth be left in shambles? So many questions, and not many answers.
