For Marilee (Mar-ih-lee) it was just another Thursday night in the 8th grade. She would have to wake up the next day and go to her classes, and then she would get the weekend to her 14 year old self. You see Marilee's family was always away. Her older sister Lydia was in college, her older brother Martin was at his friends house and her parents were always at work or vacation. Never. Ever. Home. In this utopian/ dystopian future there have been myths of falling stars coming down more and more on Earth. Only, these stars have magical essence in them and tend to be unknowingly absorbed by children from ages 5 through 16. The older the children get the less dust they seem to absorb. Children who absorb this dust seem to gain strange powers. For example the power to excel plant growth or incredible speeds. The government has set it up that when a star has landed a huge, glowing, purple dome will come to the crash sight to cover the star and a scanner will check for children affected. The government will make a huge cover up story about safety then evacuate the children to a place where they can keep an eye on them and their powers. -------------------------- Read the prologue to find out more. I had to re-edit it and everything because the italicization wouldn't work when I first published it, so some parts may not have made sense earlier.
