The story of a deranged girl

Alexandria Baines is neither working on becoming canonized, nor takes part in Black Mass, yet she is still stuck with the frustrating ability to see things no human should be forced to see. With a blotchy education history and a rap-sheet that is as long as her mental health record, she has no hope for any kind of stable lifestyle, nor fits into any jigsaw space in society. Along with the perpetually cynical antique dealer Julian, and her only childhood friend, Domino, Alex has found herself in a particularly obscure situation concerning the supernatural. In the midst of retrieving occult artefacts and vanquishing the likes of low-level spirits, goblins, and skin-walkers, Alex finds her (thankfully) small group of two friends expanding exponentially with the likes of a ghoul, a cowboy, celestial beings and an array of other colourful creatures. Of course, the universe would not be quite right if it didn't throw equal amounts of Hellspawn and dating drama her way. Who am I kidding? The universe had a bone to pick with her. While trying to balance her unorthodox life, she quickly comes to the understanding that there are much bigger and scarier things out there than pissed off ghosties and murderous cults when she is dragged into a fight for humanity after a relic belonging to a particularly vindictive Prince of Hell is stolen.

When gods roam the earth, chaos follows them. Laila is a bastard girl from a small village named Strof. Abused by her mother, she aspires to be something more than just the bastard girl of Strof. Beginning when her brother is taken away from her at the age of eight, Laila's life begins to turn upside down. Everything she knew as fact begins to slip away. The world she thought was pure is slowly revealed to be toxic. The Fallen Gods are having a growing influence on the Western State and somehow, Laila is to play a role in stopping it. Laila must find what her role in it is, and fulfill that destiny. If she doesn't? She will belong to A Fallen State.
