There comes a point in life, when all of it's shackles weigh you down, sucking out every will in you, to face another day. And when you realise, the light that you had by your side is no more, you let yourself drown in the abyss, falling with each breath, gasping for a way through, an end. Coping with loss is not easy, and the journey will never be the same. But it is when life teaches you these bitter lessons that you realise, this is all but an illusion, One that is meant for you to learn, grow and survive through inorder to reach a better place. It is then that you realise, the real light, was always within you, lit by the One who Owns it all, and that all these slivers of Noor that you held on to dearly, was never snatched away and that it is and will always be in the safest of Hands. In their search of the lost light, somewhere in between all the chaos and madness, two strangers found themselves entangled in each other's lives as they desperately sought to fill the void of darkness that lived within them.

Genre: Crime Drama | Family | Thriller | Romance Setting: South Jamaica, Queens, New York In the heart of South Jamaica, Queens, Lang's Flame is more than just a restaurant - it's a legacy. Built from nothing by former street hustler-turned-chef Eric Lynn Mathis and his sharp, business-savvy wife Melanie Amora Lang Mathis, the restaurant grew into a cultural landmark known for its soul-Asian fusion and unapologetic roots. Together, they raised their two children, Elijah and Honey, inside that flame - a kitchen forged in love, pain, and ambition. But behind the glamour and glowing reviews is a buried truth: the couple once partnered with powerful New York kingpin Damian Alonzo Colt, taking dirty money to keep the restaurant afloat. Now, years later, Damian is out of prison-and he wants payback. With the debt looming, the family is thrown into a dangerous game of loyalty, silence, and survival. Elijah, the disciplined chef-son, finds himself pulled between the kitchen and the street. Honey, fierce and skeptical, suspects her family is hiding something far bigger than bad finances. And Eric and Melanie must face not only their past, but the threat of losing everything they built-unless they're willing to let the flame consume them all. Themes: Family loyalty, buried secrets, generational survival, the cost of ambition, and what happens when the past walks through your front door hungry for more.

Up until now I have been an extreme closet writer. Lately I got brave and showed some of my thoughts and poems to a good friend and she has been after me ever since to Publish... so here goes... My dream has always been to publish a book of poetry, so I thought I'd add more here as we go. Writing is extremely cathartic for me and so I write on! My hope is that, when you (read my thoughts) y'all will feel the same release that I did as I put them to paper.

Thoughts that roamed freely and without boundaries, waiting to be read and understood. Read between the lines and decipher the messages I was trying to send. The words I dared not speak. The things I wished for, and my perspective of the world around me. Poetry of sorts. Enjoy.

Woods, Sr. his beloved and devoted wife, Mrs. Tyla Woods, known simply as 'Mama' has run the historic business.
