Time, for better or worse ultimately always begets change. Zeke's Kitchen, a well-known Detroit, Michigan east-side Soul Food restaurant has been devastated by the closing of nearby automobile plants that have fueled its eatery for decades. The Woods family have owned and operated Zeke's since the Civil Rights movement of the 1960's. Since the passing of Ezekiel S. Woods, Sr. his beloved and devoted wife, Mrs. Tyla Woods, known simply as 'Mama' has run the historic business. Collapsing in front of her youngest daughter Silvia forces the estranged adult Woods children to unite for their mother and the fate of the struggling famed restaurant. Pompous and arrogant lawyer eldest son Ezekiel Woods Jr., successful advertising executive and flamboyant oldest daughter Maureen Woods, missing in action and troubled youngest son Kevin Woods aka Kwame and mousy, withdrawn, college student Silvia, along with their extended family and friends are reunited to face their demons and challenges that change begets their family.

Oh how Time did us no mercy, . How Red Roses grew Pale, How Green Fields, Went barren. How two souls, they decayed, Layer upon Layer of Soot, And How true Love grew Stale. ______ Burnt Essences, is the story, of how we like what is toxic to us, and what happens, if we get addicted. . Every single story has that "extra plot twist" where Love turns the table around. The plot twist of Denial. The plot twist that is the result of the author's sadness and unwillingness to accept his loss. . But this story is not a lying, happy ending. This is a story of hard truths. Where when Romeo dies, love does not prevail. Where, when Juliet drinks the poison, he does not kiss her and die. He turns around. And he leaves. . . So here is our fairytale, More real than most. Aching heart, brave soul, maybe a really good cheeseburger. Anything and everything can be described with words as well as hopefully touch the people who read the words. I have not written poetry in a while, so this is just a book to get my feelings out, and hopefully relate to some of my readers who have not had any of my writing lately.

Just randomly writing what's in my dark and semi twisted soul to try and be a functioning person in society .These poems are written about experience feelings and situations that have happened in my life and how I perceive them and handle them but read if you want and thank you I would appreciate it

This piece is about why your real dream has been replaced with a made up one and to change that by prioritizing the hobbies that feed your soul. This is a new journey that I am now taking and will be writing every step of the way. Keep up!

Picture book of my Foods...

Tucked away in the southern small town of Slidell , is an Oasis community called Lakeshore. From the luxury cars and bass booming when driven by, to the "I see you!" of acknowledgement. Big houses, big lakes, and a big community of people supporting each other . What could possibly be hidden beyond the smiling faces and community activities that seem to consistently unite? Truth of existence. Open the page and meet the residents of the most pristine utopia this far south.

Ang istoryang ito, ay nabasa ko lamang mula sa mga lumang libro na pinagsama sama sa iisang lagayan. Nagkataon na napukaw ng isang lumang magazine ang aking pansin at natuwa ako sa aking nabasa. Hindi maganda ang pabalat pero maganda ang nilalaman. Isa sa magandang kwento na nagbigay sa akin ng pag asa sa kabila ng mga suliranin na meron ngayon at napapanahon. sinulat ito sa wikang English at wala akong balak baguhin dahil gusto kong mabasa ito ng marami kung paano ko ito nabasa. Nagbigay ito sa akin ng isang paniniwala at pagtitiwala sa Panginoon , sa ating Lumikha. Nawa'y makatulong sa inyo ito lalo na sa mga may suliranin na dinadala. Salamat sa SOUL FOOD. Tears are typically associated with either joy or sorrow but sometimes tears are triggered by simple thoughts. These are my thoughts written as a collection of short stories and poems.
