Guardians are powerful magical creatures, assigned to a previously dead human called a Handler, and are tasked to protect both the living in The-Kingdom-In-The-Ground and the dead in The-Kingdom-In-The-Sky. Some Handlers and Guardians are assigned to the SoulHunters squad, a team of animals and their humans who are tasked to hunt down and rehabilitate lost souls, monsters that hurt the living. Because the SoulHunting is the most dangerous task, it is said only the ones with the most bad karma are assigned those missions leaving the SoulHunters with a bad reputation that earns the mockery from all the others.
