Graham "Gray" Ashford grew up surrounded by old Carolina money-the kind of family whose lake house had been passed down for generations, where summers meant sunrise jet ski rides, long afternoons on the water, and nights around the fire pit with lifelong friends. Now a junior at the University of South Carolina and a member of one of the school's top fraternities, Gray has never had to question where he belongs. Lakynn Grace Brooks has spent every summer working at her family's marina, helping her uncle keep the business running while tourists come and go. She knows every cove of the lake, every boat slip, and every regular by name. Hardworking, independent, and unimpressed by flashy lifestyles, she's learned that people who are only visiting rarely leave a lasting impression. But when one broken jet ski forces their paths to cross, the summer neither of them expected begins. He came to the lake expecting another perfect summer. She'd spent her whole life there believing people like him never stayed. Neither of them knew one chance meeting at the marina would change everything.

    |11TH GRADE DRAFT| The Octopus Man is growing stronger, and so is Tracey. Makenna must find her way to the Bermuda Triangle to protect the Human and Fairy Worlds before the young apprentice becomes the claxton he is destined to be. *** Since Makenna Delling discovered she is a Metamorphic Fairy, nothing in her life has been simple. Having just finished her sophomore year of high school, she and Tracey must travel to the undersea city of Atlantis to stop Tracey from falling victim to his own power... the power of the claxton. Ash, a Wizard Fairy, is on a secret mission from Coutarine Island to help them. However, the Octopus Man remains active and vows to drag Tracey to the Bermuda Triangle. Because of this, Ash must teach Makenna and Tracey Special Spells-spells that will help them win their battle against the Octopus Man. It is now even more crucial that Makenna becomes a Merfairy Metamorphic Fairy. The Human and Magic Worlds are colliding in an event similar to something that happened seventeen years ago. What does this event have to do with Makenna, Tracey, and Ash? How will the teens reach Atlantis without the Kraken destroying them before confronting the Octopus Man? Most importantly, will Makenna ever find her long-lost family member?

Alfred refuses to let go of his southern children. His eldest son Dixie refuses to acknowledge Lincoln as president. The battles they originally thought as picnics began to prove a long treacherous war. This was going to hurt far worse than anyone had originally anticipated. In other words its the 1860s, the American Civil War, and Alfred decides the only way to get things done properly in this war is to join the military without telling anyone and drag his children back... dead or alive. Please bear with me I'm not very good at writing, this is also my first fic that I'm actually taking seriously, also don't mind the cover I can't draw men that well 🥹... warnings: -yes there will be blood and death and disease and infections- and the general horrors that come with war -really old ideas (like slavery and racism and other ones relating to the era) -some possible ships (only references though and I might decide not to even include it [America/Germany]) -No one else has proof read this besides me (because no one who knows me needs to know about this) -written at very late or VERY early hours of the day -written mostly for fun -not entirely historically accurate (but I tried a little) If anyone actually reads this and enjoys it I'll continue it. (I didn't want to post this to ao3 because I'm afraid ill get hit by a bus 🥹)

When Barbara moves to Fountain Inn, she expects quiet streets and second chances - not a painting that hums with memory. Inside its worn frame lies the story of two brothers, a forgotten fire, and a town that learned to rebuild by remembering. As Barbara follows the painting's quiet pulse through archives, sealed hallways, and the hearts of those who still carry the mill's legacy, she discovers that history doesn't haunt - it asks to be heard. A tale of small‑town resilience, grief, and grace, What the Mill Remembered is about the people who keep their stories alive, and the child who finally finds his way home. Some histories don't haunt - they wait to be heard.

My heels clicked against the cold, hard floor of the beaten-down warehouse. Many of the florescent bulbs were out, the few that remained made the hallway seem eerie. There were no windows in this hall, every ten feet or so would be an abandoned office, but straight ahead of me were the double doors that led to the conference room that I am looking for. My garnet red dress hugged my hips and my thighs but it didn't make me feel uncomfortable. My raven hair was pulled into a sleek ponytail on my head with only a few strands hanging loose. It was cold in this hallway, I felt goosebumps on my arms. Every time I breathed, I could see my breath. I was an idiot for not bringing a jacket, and instead leaving it in the car. The closer I got to the double doors, the louder the yelling became. "I said, where is the money!" Lockheart, my boss, yelled loudly at someone. "I don't know!" They replied. I open the double doors and made my appearance at the meeting. Sitting in three chairs, were three men blindfolded. Sam Lockheart stood just behind them, his ginger hair disheveled and sweat dripped off his forehead in anger. Dallas Parker sat in a chair on the opposite side of the conference table. "You look nice," Dallas commented. "Why did I have to be called in after a date with my boyfriend?" I asked, heading straight to the point. "I was wondering the same thing," he said in agreement. "You have a boyfriend now?" I joked. "Yep, and I also live on the moon with a whole bunch of fairies," he said with a cheesy grin. "Living the life," I said, feigning jealousy. "Stop the chit-chatting and let's get to work!" Lockheart yelled at us. "What do you want us to do?" I asked, arms crossed and with a sigh. "Vivian, you need to do what you do best and Parker, start with my preferred interrogation tactics if they don't do well with Vivian."

Mya thought she had her life figured out. By twenty-four, she's already a nurse, living in a cozy South Carolina apartment with her best friend, surviving long shifts, iced coffee runs, and the kind of chaos only nurses understand. On the outside, she's doing everything right. But on the inside, there's one thing she can't quiet... the constant ache of wanting to be loved. When Mya meets a charming doctor who makes her feel seen in a way she never has before, she lets herself believe this could finally be it. The late-night conversations, the lingering glances, the way he says her name like it means something... it all feels real. Until it isn't. What starts as something she thought would heal her ends up breaking her in ways she didn't expect, forcing Mya to confront the painful question she's been avoiding all along... why does she keep choosing people who don't choose her? As she slowly picks herself back up, leaning on friendship, healing, and the life she's built, Mya begins to realize that love might not look the way she imagined it would. And when it finally finds her again, it's quieter, steadier... and everything she didn't know she needed. A heartfelt, messy, and deeply honest story about longing, heartbreak, and learning that being chosen starts with choosing yourself.
