From the most rural parts of Southern Africa, comes the story of Melissa, a beautiful girl who finds herself betrothed to the village chief. She has learnt from Rachel, the health worker, that true love exists, but it is until Rachel has to leave her forever, that she discovers it.

A deadly virus is stolen from a high security lab in Harare and shipped to Botswana where a cabal calling itself The Code of the Eagle unleashes it on the unsuspecting citizens. An unorthodox and disgraced former Zimbabwean spy Garikai Rukope is roped in to stop the scientists by any means necessary. Detective Tsholofelo Baboloki of the Botswana Police Services is also on the case. Running against the clock, dodging assassins and crazy doctors, the two unlikely partners - a washed out ex-spook and a by-the-book cop - fight tooth and nail to save the citizens of Gaborone.

Once again Garikai and Tsholo find themselves in the middle of a scrape. This one is on the Zimbabwean side of the border, where two VIP children are abducted and the criminals responsible demand for Garikai's participation in the negotiation process. Their pasts rear up and threaten to destroy their present. Will they be able to get over the events that helped define who they are and move past the obstacles that seem to be thrown in their paths at every turn?
