My name is Michael Clifford. Ive just been checked in to Heritage Oaks mental hospital from my home in Huntington Beach, California. My parents had told me we were going on a vacation to Northern California for my birthday. I should've known! No one takes vacations in the middle of November. Why am I in this stupid mental institution you ask? Because I see things. Things that others can't and my parents couldn't take it. I've only been here for about and hour and I'm already regretting not jumping out of the car and running when my dad pulled up in the parking lot. How could I be so clueless? I'd been going to Huntington Beach High School and I was in year 9. I never really got bullied, mainly because everyone was scared of me. I never really had friends, but I didn't mind. Since I was 6, I had lived in Southern California in Orange County. My family called it SoCal. I miss the place so much, I decided to write this poem. It is short, but very meaningful to me. I hope you enjoy. :)
