Some inherit money. Some inherit monsters. After twelve years away, attorney Evelyn Charbonneau returns to Blackwater Parish, Louisiana, for one reason only-to bury the grandmother who raised her and leave for good. But when the will is read, Evelyn inherits Blackwater Manor, the sprawling estate that has ruled the town for generations, along with a legacy no one will explain. The people of Blackwater watch her too closely. Doors that have been sealed for decades begin opening. Whispers drift through the marsh after sunset. And every path she takes seems to lead back to one man. Lucien De Launay. Beautiful. Cultured. Dangerous. The mysterious patriarch of one of Louisiana's oldest families carries himself like a man who has lived a hundred lifetimes-and looks at Evelyn as though she's the only one that has ever mattered. As long-buried family secrets surface, Evelyn discovers that her mother's disappearance was no accident, her family's fortune was built on an ancient bargain, and the blood running through her veins is worth more than any inheritance. Because Blackwater has been waiting for its rightful heir. And some legacies don't ask to be inherited. They demand it.

In the heart of the Deep South, where secrets rot beneath magnolia trees and whispers drift through cracked church windows, a curse has waited... patient, hungry, and bound in blood. When Ben's father dies, grief cracks open a door he didn't know existed-a door into a world of forgotten rituals, haunted legacies, and the book that holds it all: the Grimoire of Kaz. Ancient, powerful, and alive, it reveals a terrifying truth. Every firstborn male in Ben's family is marked... and time's runnin' out. Now, stalked by the Shadow People and guided by his no-nonsense grandmother, Bigmama, Bennie must confront the deal that doomed his bloodline-and the ancestor who couldn't finish what he started. The only way out... is through the dark. "They don't just come for you, child. They remember you. They remember your daddy. And they remember the deal y'all broke." - Bigmama
