Spacecombat Stories

|NOT FINISHED| Humanity has become a space-adventurous race, traveling through galaxies and claiming anything without hesitation. Their neglect has already caused turmoil amongst their people, 'freedom fighters' have risen from the ashes of their world's remains. Little do they know, these rebellions are the least of their worries as humanity will face the ultimate challenge of their time: Survival. In this story, you will see firsthand the conflict, the sacrifices, the destruction, the deception, all for one's desire to live. Will humanity survive and live to tell the tale, or will they be destroyed, consumed by the very thing they swore wasn't true? (This story is constantly being edited and changed, so it may seem wonky or straight-up stupid, my apologies.)

The novel started as a short story that was submitted to a writing contest (didn't win). It is very loosely based upon the Babylon 5 Universe (telepaths, shadows, plethora of different races, etc.). I still continued to think about the story and how it ended without a final resolution (though the story did have an ending, it left a lot of questions about the protagonist). Thanks to the obsession and compulsion I have with writing (it's a blessing and a curse) I decided to continue the story to final resolution. This is it. A race called the Chitoxan came from an unknown area of space and declared war on the races making up the Earth-Alliance. More technically advanced than the races they encounter, the overwhelming power of the shadow vessels results in most battles ending in complete defeat for the Earth-Alliance. Only by massing fire on an individual shadow vessel or, in extremely desperate situations, committing suicide with a ship's reactor overload, can a shadow vessel be defeated. Earth and Earth-alliance colonies are slowly being conquered and occupied by Chitoxa. The humans on these occupied colonies are enslaved and forced to serve the Chitoxan's every need. A young man volunteers for the Space Marines during the Chitoxan war. Upon induction, he discovers that he is 'blessed' with unique abilities. However, these abilities cause his life to be changed drastically and terribly. He is taken away and forced into a never-ending nightmare. After a quick and violent encounter between Earth and Chitoxa, another Earth fleet is beaten and is almost wiped out. The surviving ship gets a lucky shot at an attacking shadow vessel, slicing off one of its appendages. The pain and shock of the loss does something to the human controller of the battle crab....

Having finally finished the full-length novel in this series, I though I'd try a little story fleshing out the universe. Yeah, I've been reading/listening to a few HFY things lately and wanted to do one in my own universe.

Kaya Danvers of Lethorn Squadron heads out on another combat mission, in a new starfighter.

Pieces O. Nickles, a young girl who joins a Galactic Military Force named The Diamonds. Pieces is a mechanic for the force, but she may be something more.

The year is 278 Carrier Launch. Humanity, the Terrans, set off to colonize new worlds. While in cryo-sleep however, navigation took them far from home. After a war for their independence, they managed to make a colonized galaxy for themselves. But its crashing down. Evolving and conquering Xenos, belligerent and aggressive aliens, and an insurrection are causing the peace to fall apart. Standing for their nation, for the Terran Survival Protectorate, several brave pilots take to the skies to defend their homes, their friends, their lives, and the Terran Race's very existence. (Inspired by Starcraft II)

Mariana Davis, a grizzled veteran Striker Attack Craft pilot, participates in the Battle of the Intraben System, along with her Saleen wingman, Japra Tysala, hopefully changing the fate of the XCOM Interstellar Union, and stopping the Provalguvor Zealots' religious crusade across the galaxy.
