This is the log of Captain Kane, containing his journey, and his AI companion named Emerson, through space. Kane tries to scratch out a living in this vast ocean, and will take whatever means he likes to do so. In his vastly empty region of space, there is very little organic life, or at least of complex organic life. Instead, the majority of life there is AI, though rudimentary. Even rudimentary AI can pose a threat, however. Will Kane and Emerson survive? Will they endure and prosper? ********************** AUTHOR'S NOTE: This story is based on a save file in the game Space Engineers (which is owned by KeenSoftwareHouse, who reserves all rights in graphics, title of game, and all content of the game). Spoiler alert, Captain Kane is myself #ShamelessPlug. Now, the save file has a lot of mods installed (however, the majority of vessels will not use them), so if you play the game and don't know what I mean, comment/message and I'll explain further. Why? Because I'm going to be writing it as if it was real, as if I am really in that universe. COMMENTS ARE WELCOME. the training ship EFN unyielding is sent on a voyage to discover a new star system with a system fleet. Sparking grounds mining corporation sends a ragtag group of individuals in a ship called (the Atlas) to mine and explore the astroids fields in an new and barely explored system. As they were making there way to the intended destination Pirates attack the ship, and send the wreck crashing into a nearby planet. Will the surviving members of the crew find each other, and survive the dangers of the new unforgiving planet, build a way off and find there way back home all while fighting of hostile animals and people.

Disclaimer - I do not own the video game, Space Egineers, only using the setting cause I think it's an awesome game, I only own the characters in the story, and the idea for the story itself, enjoy. This story is a work of fiction, it's inspired by the video game, Space Engineers, where you can build space ships, planetary bases, and asteroid bases, in this story, my character and a few other characters are a crew who have created an asteroid base, and have a capitol ship, and they are mining day to day, performing general repairs, that sort of thing, when all of a sudden their asteroid base is attacked.

The RME... Royal Minerva Empire. The "E" didn't always mean Empire. When the person who built the RME first started, the "E" stood for Enterprises. It was a shipping company and one of, if not the largest, dealers of Magnesium, Platinum, and Cobalt. It helped other factions build warships with the resources they provided. The RME fleet originally consisted of twenty large transports, medium-sized freighters, and about forty Reaper-Class fighters for protection purposes. And you might be thinking, surely Minerva should have its own military of some sort. It did, but it was small, consisting of six outdated V1 Basilisk-Class Frigates and one Serenity-Class Cruiser. That was before the RLS-the Red Luna Singularity.
