January '24 SciFi challenge. James is about to live a life-long dream, fly off to explore a distant galaxy. He understands the dangers, but does he believe they're real?

(Note: This is the old version. It is preferable if you read the current/new version.) For all their life, J. Pappas has been a reader and a writer. They have written about many things - cats, owls, humans, and dragons; they've read stories about distant futures, fantastic worlds, and epic adventures. But now a new genre of literature has arisen - "woke" literature. This type of literature has erased the memories of those old stories that J. and past generation loved to read, infecting those who read it with ideologies than wonder. And worse, the next generation is being exposed to its horrors. J. had to do something to combat this. And so, they wrote and wrote and wrote. Story after story after story. Many weren't working, but one stayed in their head. This is that story - a distant planet that mimics our times, but it not ruled by humans. It is ruled by dragons, and humans are the aliens of that planet.

Put on a pilgrimage ship to another planet, due to family debt she cannot escape, Anita Myers was resigned to her fate. A farmer by trade, she understood what she was getting into. She would help settle the 'new frontier', plant crops, catch dysentery probably, and then be buried in the backyard of her little dirt house. Except that didn't happen. Their ship crashed. On a completely different planet. And as someone with emergency response training, Anita is thrown into a mass casualty event, without a sterile medical environment, on a planet she doesn't even know the name of. Except the longer they are on the surface, the more things aren't what they seem, and the more she realizes, they might not be alone. Especially when, in the middle of the night. She stumbles across a large, winged alien, who studies her with an intensity that makes the hair on the back of her neck stand up. --- The great mother was broken apart, a silver sword sliced through her great blue and pierced the ground. The written mission reports from the Space Company N.S.F.R (National Space Flight & Research) These will be based on the game Kerbal Space Program. I will be starting a new career mode save and issuing each flight a mission report.

Lumi is just looking for a bit of relaxation with someone that can take her breath away, after she finds herself between jobs. But a moment of carelessness leaves her in transit between stations.

This is something I've just written for fun, I will only add extra chapters if people want them. It is about two girls, whose mums are identical twins and so are their dads, the only difference between them is one of them was born on Earth and one on Mars. Please comment if you want more.
