(some few inspirations from sagas1023) In the chaotic and vibrant neon lit roads of New Eridu, the last remaining city on earth, home to millions of people as the last remnants of humanity huddle into one last bastion that stands against the hollows. In a turn of events a mysterious meteor crashes into the outer ring, but to those of excellent vision, the 'meteor' was too strange to be a meteor, it felt too smooth, it's movements too deliberate. As the city meets giants clad in yellow and gold bearing an aquila never before seen, hailing from a home far into the stars. Their quest takes them to the Hive World of Shevana Prime, to Hive Osteos, where contacts within the Adeptus Mechanicus warn of increasing levels of unusual network activity coming from within the core of the capitol city. Captain Kanan Jarrus is about to embark on one of the first manned interstellar missions outside the solar system, hoping to find evidence that humans are not alone in the universe. What he finds will change everything- including the fate of Earth. Status as of 5/16/20: on indefinite hiatus while I decide whether or not to turn this idea into an actual novel.

The novel started as a short story that was submitted to a writing contest (didn't win). It is very loosely based upon the Babylon 5 Universe (telepaths, shadows, plethora of different races, etc.). I still continued to think about the story and how it ended without a final resolution (though the story did have an ending, it left a lot of questions about the protagonist). Thanks to the obsession and compulsion I have with writing (it's a blessing and a curse) I decided to continue the story to final resolution. This is it. A race called the Chitoxan came from an unknown area of space and declared war on the races making up the Earth-Alliance. More technically advanced than the races they encounter, the overwhelming power of the shadow vessels results in most battles ending in complete defeat for the Earth-Alliance. Only by massing fire on an individual shadow vessel or, in extremely desperate situations, committing suicide with a ship's reactor overload, can a shadow vessel be defeated. Earth and Earth-alliance colonies are slowly being conquered and occupied by Chitoxa. The humans on these occupied colonies are enslaved and forced to serve the Chitoxan's every need. A young man volunteers for the Space Marines during the Chitoxan war. Upon induction, he discovers that he is 'blessed' with unique abilities. However, these abilities cause his life to be changed drastically and terribly. He is taken away and forced into a never-ending nightmare. After a quick and violent encounter between Earth and Chitoxa, another Earth fleet is beaten and is almost wiped out. The surviving ship gets a lucky shot at an attacking shadow vessel, slicing off one of its appendages. The pain and shock of the loss does something to the human controller of the battle crab....

Led by a seasoned commander and a brilliant scientist, the crew of the Aurora must overcome numerous obstacles and dangers as they journey through the vast reaches of space to reach their destination. Along the way, they encounter unexpected challenges and must rely on their training, teamwork, and the latest technology to survive. Can they succeed in their mission and secure the future of humanity? What makes Project Aurora unique is that the story is written by an artificial intelligence language model called ChatGPT. Based on the GPT-3.5 architecture, ChatGPT was trained on a massive corpus of text and can generate human-like language in response to prompts. The result is a science fiction tale that blends human creativity with artificial intelligence, exploring the possibilities of what might happen as humanity ventures out into the universe in search of a new home.
