He was a teenage boy, I was a teenage girl. Just children. This story is fiction, I'd like to make that clear. I was inspired to make this short little story by something that happened to one of my friends. I, myself, have never had this happen to me. But if this or anything similar has happened to you I urge you to seek help. Once again, this story is fiction, but something like this can happen to anybody.

Josh was a normal 16-year-old guy that had everything at the palm of his hands; looks, good grades, and a beautiful girlfriend, Paige. Paige was his whole other world, where he could escape from everything that went on between his family. But one day, Paige is gone, and Josh is shattered, not knowing what to do with his life. He then makes friends with his new neighbor, Ricky, who teaches Josh different ways to cope with depression and stress, even if all of them aren't good ideas. Slowly he learns the arts of cutting and burning, and becomes a wreck. At this point in his life, Josh has no idea what to do except for rebel and stay friends with his terrible friend, Drew. Secrets linger in the air, bodies will be hung, and clothing will be taken off. Somehow, this is all kept a dirty, nasty secret that'll leave you saying, 'Shhhh....'

This story has a moral to it.. And that is how you define yourself and how you let the world around you make a self-definition of you.

Have you ever spilled your emotions and thoughts to someone in the spur of the moment? Then instantly regretted it because you could tell by the look in their eyes they saw you completely different. Whether it was a look of pity or a look of disgust. Some thoughts are better kept to yourself and sometimes if you let too much out it could ruin you. In our world it's not ourselves we are worried about keeping stable its the entire race. Our home is a disaster but not quite literally or physically it's more of a mental state if destruction. Something behind the eyes hidden deep within our minds. Our race is in danger a state of shock and exposure. All because of them, they have taken over our world and nestled in our minds. Sifting through our thoughts, feeding from our energy, draining us, and then killing us by pushing us over the edge. Our minds are invaded by a army of a parasitic species thirsty for dirty little secrets. They are called the Hinx. My people only have one advantage that they are clinging to like a lifeline. Once they are in our heads they already know everything nothing is able to be kept hidden from them. But they can only speak out loud using our vocal cords and they can only speak the thoughts if we let them they spill our minds every thought we kept hidden from birth then they feast on our energy soon leaving us cold and dead. Simple as that if you let them speak you die. I have yet to be marked. I've been in hiding watching my people die because of course there's nothing I can do. I cant save the world alone so I'm on a hunt to find other people hidden from this form of Apocalyptic end of the world. Then maybe just maybe I can try and do something, anything. Finding people was hard. Convincing them was even harder but I think the hardest part of it all is trying to fight something suddenly nestled inside my own head... *Don't let them speak*
