They say that beautiful creatures lead beautiful existences, but that isn't always true. In fact, most beautiful creatures have tragic endings, and that's just how things work out. In her last words, she wrote everything that she'd ever kept hidden inside, only to show that however beautiful on the outside, the inside is merely a hollow space for demons of the night to invade. ~~~~~~ If I stay in your waves, in your embrace, will I break? This deep pitted passion in the darkest parts of my soul wants to say no, to deny the thought of betraying you, the fiery soul that completes me. Yet there is something else present in my judgment; a voice of doubt and of reason. If I were to stay in your embrace…would I break? Will the burning passion that I feel for you inevitably consume and destroy me; destroy all the things that I have unintentionally forgotten? In the end…will I be the one to destroy myself, or will you save me from the pain of my forth-coming demise? -R

[#110 in Historical Fiction! 03/03/2017] Beautiful girls in exquisite dresses. Handsome men with dishonorable intentions. Add in jazz and booze and you have the high society of Chicago 1922. With white lies and dark secrets Chicago's wealthiest families don't only bounce back and forth between the city and their country estates, they also alternate with ease between the extended pinkie tea parties during the day and scandalous speakeasies at night. Clara and Olivia Vandercroft are at the top of the social scene... or so it seems. When they find out that their position may not be so secure , suddenly everyone is against them to threaten their future - including Clara's social-climbing best friend, Virginia, who is tired of living in her shadow. When Virginia's envy boils over from being thwarted once again by the Vandercroft sisters, no one is safe. It's the roaring twenties, when morality is questioned, dark secrets prevail, and anything goes. Cover credited to: @nighttimemonsters #EWA2017

Nestled in the heart of Long Island--in the midst of the New York underground prohibition scene during the Jazz Age--lies a speakeasy. The Adagio, now owned only by Don Farley after a falling out with his ex-business partner, Divo Iacovelli. A typical dispute between shared business owners--One gets greedy and wants the whole business, the other wants a shared business or bust. They split, and form their own gangs. It is raw, completely unedited. All Characters are mine.]
