Humanity left Earth 5,000 years ago. My parents came back. They came from Astra-0211 with the rest of the crew, aboard a ship that could warp space and cross the distance between worlds. They came here to study the place humanity had abandoned so long ago. Then the ship crashed. I was born two weeks later. I've spent all seventeen years of my life here, on the very world where humanity began. I've seen the forests, the ruins, the rivers, and the creatures that now call this place home. I've heard stories about the civilization that once lived here, but most of it feels like ancient history to me. Because this isn't ancient history. It's home. And there's still so much of it I haven't seen. I'm Rafael Altair. There's beauty everywhere I look, and I've finally gotten old enough to go looking for more of it. So that's what I plan to do.
