As I wandered through what was seemingly an endless maze of rooms and hallways, my heart began to sink. Was I ever going to get out of here? This is an alternate ending to Project: 863's "He Arrived In The Night (Things Got Strange)". Part 1 and 2 were created before they released that episode. The rest of the parts are a continuation of it.

(First off, I'd like to say that this story was previously called Team Edge: Kidnapped but is now called "The Key Mystery"). If you're new or are re-reading this story, hi! Just read chapters One through Eighteen, as those are the only chapters I've updated. And number two, this story is inspired by a YouTube channel I loved. That channel is called "Project 863". (If you want to start at the beginning of the Key Series, just look up on YouTube, "Project 863 The Key Series". There will be a playlist you can watch so you're all caught up. It's long, but I promise, it's so worth it!) :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "Matt, what's going on?!" Woods screams, a crack in his voice. He looks at the men pulling him into their car, then looks worriedly at Matt and Samantha. A group of young men surround them and shove Matt and Samantha towards the car that Woods was being pulled into. As hard as everyone struggles, it's too late. The men pull Woods, Matt, and Samantha into their car, tie their hands behind their back, and the car screeches away. Matt looks at Samantha, looking guilty. "I'm so sorry for dragging you two into this," he mumbles, tears in his eyes.

"Maaatt, Woooods...." His quiet voice echoed through the room as the click of the knife against metal clanged across the vast space. I covered my mouth and closed my eyes, terrified to make any noise. Cold sweat was pouring down my forehead and into my eyes, but I didn't dare to wipe it away in case he somehow heard. He laughed, an evil menace behind it, and I slowly squeezed myself further into the tight space I was in, also helping Woods. As I stared into my friends wide, brown eyes, I thought one thing: How could this have happened to someone we thought was our friend?

Payten Holloway starts her new job at Hi5 Studios in December 2020. After a frightening incident on her first day involving the Stalker, Matthias bans Payten from the mystery-solving team. Throughout the story, Payten finds herself more tied up in Project 863 than she could ever have imagined. [*DISCLAIMER* This story is mainly based on theories of what might happen next in the Key Saga. If something doesn't align correctly with Matthias' story line, I will go back and change it.]
