At the start of a new school year in yet another unfamiliar city, thirteen-year-old Flynn Barnes just wants to keep his head down. After six years of moving from place to place with his mom, standing out has never been an option. But when the opportunity to participate in the school spelling bee appears - along with a series of mysterious letters sent to their home - staying invisible becomes impossible. As Flynn competes for a chance to rise all the way to the national spelling bee, he must do everything he can to keep himself and his mom in Mayville, Florida... without drawing the attention of the Southern Republic of Texas.

How I thought the spelling bee episode should have gone. The build-up is very canon, after that, it leans more into Hicsqueak. For the curious who haven't seen the episode: Raincloud Hecate has to compete against Sunshine and First Love Pippa. The stress of the event causes some thunderstorms that will eventually clear up to reveal a beautiful rainbow.

These are just some narratives of my past experiences in life. They're . . . interesting.

Valerie Barnes is your typical 13 year old. Except for one thing. She's in the 4th grade. Her totally oblivious mom can't see her side of the story, and she's fed up. Finally after a whole lot of acting skills, she convinced her mom to move, so she can start on a fresh plate, and perhaps start the 8th grade, the grade she's supposed to be in. But over the summer, her mom decideds to enroll her in a summer school. And she can't go to 8th grade, unless she learns all 5th grade, 6th grade, and 7th grade concepts. Now how is she supposed to do that in one summer?!

The former Putnam County spellers have undeniably grown up, but at last, their past has caught up with them. That makes it sound so serious; it's just a bit of heartfelt fluff with some drama that seems fitting for the characters. Enjoy!

For this story I decided to write about a girl who is at a spelling bee, but she keeps internalizing every word she gets. This is another one from Creative Writing class. The prompt was to write a story that focuses mainly on character development. This concept is actually very relatable to me because even to this day I still have a habit of internalizing passing speech. I would frequently question moments in my life and interpret them as fate. "Why am I the one who got this?" "Is this secretly saying something about me...? maybe it is... I could see how it is...". Ultimately, I think it's important that we learn to define ourselves, and not to completely give in to the past or our circumstances.
