Johnny needed out. Four years ago, Johnny boarded a ship bound for the International Space Station and watched his entire world light on fire. Literally. Sue hasn't let him out of her sight since, so when he finally gets an opportunity to taste the freedom he's yearned for, he puts down an offer for the first apartment within walking distance of ESU. - Between classwork, the Bugle, and Spider-Manning, Peter doesn't spend much time in his crumbling apartment complex. Even so, he probably should have noticed Johnny Storm moving in next door.

Spideytorch fic Johnny Storm is the Human Torch, but only the other members of the Fantastic Four know this. Why does he have a secret identity? To protect his bakery, of course. Wake and Bake is one of New York City's finest bakeries, and Betty Brant from the Daily Bugle is about to write a human interest story about it for the Food and Culture section. Who does she choose to bring with her as photographer? Peter Parker, obviously. Johnny is immediately intrigued. Peter is juggling a teaching career, freelance photography for the Bugle, and his superhero routine, with moderate success. When Johnny wakes up from a coma, he seems to be acting strange with his best friend, Spider-man. On the even weirder side, he's suddenly wants to be friends with the Bugle photographer Peter Parker.

Peter Parker, a resentful Omega, gets his dream come true when he is bitten by a radioactive spider. His Omega scent is dulled, he no longer gets heats, and Alphas no longer grope him all the time. Although he hid his secondary gender when he was Spider-Man, he still felt like he was helping the world see that secondary genders don't have to define you. Then... he gets his first heat after the spider bite. And he found that spiders- one of the only species in the Animal Kingdom that don't have Alpha, Beta, and Omega dynamics- and humans don't mix all too well. Alphas have always been on top. They didn't have to worry about being afraid of walking to the store and being claimed. Then being treated like property for the rest of their lives. Only now... There was a predator to hunt the Alphas... and he was terrified by what that meant. Also posted on AO3. It'll have more chapters, I'm just seeing how it'll do on Wattpad.
