She began to notice her roommate had kept strange hours and would continually come back to the dorm sporting new bruises that would clear up within hours, even minutes. Deciding to follow her one night proved to be the wrong decision as she was thrust into the truth behind the hellmouth town and the truth about her past self. Premise. In the kingdom of Equestria, its three species of ponies-earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns-live harmoniously. Twilight Sparkle, a studious unicorn (later an alicorn), travels to Ponyville to learn about friendship at the urging of Equestria's ruler (and her mentor) Princess Celestia.
