People sometimes ask me why I write poems. The answer is usually because daft, wacky ideas pop into my head and I need to put them somewhere; so I write a poem. Every now and then, however, writing poetry helps me to work out how I'm feeling about something. It helps me to get my thoughts in order, process what's been happening, and hopefully let go of some of the negative emotions I might have been experiencing. This is one of those poems. Although it looks like it's about politics, it's not a political poem. It's a 'how I've been feeling poem.' Enjoy. Disagree. Ignore. Share. Completely up to you.

sometimes in my sleep bits of my soul come out through my pores and take the form of words. by the time i wake up they have already become poems.
