Avery Richards is a music-loving, bookish teenage girl with a thirst for adventure. Her life is changed forever when she meets Raven DelMarzo, a death-obsessed poet with a dark secret, Spindler Eaglefire, a sword-wielding elf from an alternate universe, and Theodore, Spindler's bossy teddy bear who may or may not be trying to take over the world. This unlikely quartet sets off on a dangerous quest - to steal the Azurro Crystal from a mysterious enemy.
