28 years after the war that shook and froze the world, humanity still survives. Deep under the earth, society has made a civilization built on survival. Due to the world being locked in a constant blizzard, the surviving scientist of the world came up with a procedure that allow humans to go onto the surface. Combining human DNA with the DNA of animals that could survive the cold. Nick Wells, is one of the teens who volunteer for this procedure . After loss of communication with the other settlements, Nick along with a group of people who also underwent the procedures are tasked with fixing the communication array above ground. But after reaching the surface they find that they are not the only ones above ground. A former geneticists and a young girl crash-land on a distant moon. Although thought to be uninhabitable, the moon is covered in lush and deadly red flora. The two must trek through this land in search for a way off, though they may be entangled in a larger ploy encircling the mysteries of this world. The Dawn Breaks examines the consequences and banality of hedonism, the consequences of speciesism and factionalism and the far-reaching ramifications of modern ignorance.
