On a seemingly routine mission to bring supplies to the New Vulcan colony, the crew of the Enterprise comes across a Vulcan freighter ship in distress and under attack by Orion pirates looking to sell some rare Vulcans. While rescuing the captured Vulcans, there was an accident and something happened to Kirk.

Basically, what if Spock Prime wasn't alone on Delta Vega with two of his oldest and dear friends? First version of 'Old triumvirate' before the idea was fully grasped at its concept roots. Character death. No Kirk Prime.
