There are so many reasons to hate on the modern SpongeBob episodes. The writing has really gone downhill since season four, creating episodes with too much gross out and too much filler. Complex characters we had once looked up to as children have been reduced to fladerized assholes. Past villains have become victims to the sociopathic heroes episode by episode, and dark humor has plagued the show's past innocence. It seems the writers really do not care anymore about their own creation, and this once great show should've died years ago. (May not be completely child friendly.)
