A [Spooks] fanfic, this takes place some time after series 8 but is essentially AU as it ignores the events of series 9.

Inspired by a comment made on Servetus' excellent blog Me + Richard Armitage, this is a series of humorous stories based around the premise of "What if RA's characters hung around my house, eating my junk food, watching the telly, sparring, and in general amusing themselves in their down time?" The initial standalone story was such a hit it became a series.

When you think of a family you think of a happy, loving group of people. That's far from the truth for Kate. Kate's brother had died in a car accident when she was only 9 years old. Her mother, full of grief, left the house without a word, leaving her father to take care of her. Her father is constantly behind on bills, trying his best to take care of the only family he has left. One day, he just stopped. He stopped trying. He only left his room to eat and drink, but that was it. Kate was trying her best to pay the bills with what little money she had left. However.. One night, she went into her father's room with a baseball bat. She had heard her brother's voice in her head telling her that it was his fault. So, she murdered him. She was sent to the BrooksWood Asylum shortly after for First Degree Murder. There, she's spending the rest of her days.

After a surgeon has one of his patients die on the table he becomes frustrated and loses himself and his job. He was told to go on a break that would last three weeks to help get over the frustration. He comes back and the entire hospital is deserted except for the people he catches running down corridors and scratching the walls. He becomes locked inside and cannot leave, what can he do to help bring the hospital back together?

Ronin starts to shake his head, but a wailing siren cuts him off. Its echo bounces around the room, and I cover my ears. It does nothing to help the deafening noise, so I take them off. The emergency fire-situation sprinklers come on, dousing us instantly. I can tell it's not normal for the water to come out so fast and concentrated, but the water is coming out faster with each second that passes. Soon I'm sputtering and spitting out water. The ground turns into a miniature shallow lake. Water is up to my ankles. "Ronin!" I grab his arm. He is wiping at his eyes, coughing out blood. "RONIN!" I shriek, louder. I am suddenly aware of the tingle of the water as it soaks into your clothing. "Poison." I whisper. "It's poisoned." "No kidding!" Ronin says as he coughs up more blood. "Chill," I say confidently.
