Jaime Kelly, also known as "Books", is the leader of the Lower Manhattan Newsies. She loves her Newsies like they're her family. Every 8 Days she goes to see her best friend, Spot, the "King of Brooklyn". Everything seems to be going pretty normal until one day when she and her brother, Jack, start a strike against "The World". But what happens when memories of her past starts to resurface? And what happens when she makes a bet with " King Idiot" that in 8 days he could get her to say 8 letters? Note: ALL CHARACTERS MENTIONED IN THE 1992 FILM BELONG TO DISNEY. I DO NOT OWN ANY CHARACTERS EXCEPT FOR JAIME AND ANY OTHER CHARACTERS NOT MENTIONED IN THE NEWSIES 1992 FILM!

Jolynn Morris was the twin sister to Charlie (or Crutchy). They were both outcasts in Queens. Crutchy because he was a crip and Jolynn because she was his twin. But she's the best sister he could've asked for. And when they found the newsies, they took them in with open arms. She remains to the day, the only girl newsie. But, she couldn't care less. She often finds herself leading with Jack. When the Newsies find themselves on strike, she meets a fellow leader of Brooklyn. She finds him very interesting and can't help but stay away. She is a smart mouthed, tough, big headed girl with one twisted life. Regardless of who she is, she isn't afraid to speak her mind or throw a few punches here and there. However, when her past catches up to her, Addilyn has to put up with a lot more than she expected including the King of Brooklyn.

Winter. A time of year the newsboys of New York City wish they skip over. It got cold- real cold. Newsies all over would start showing signs of sickness within the first weeks of winter. Not as many people are out on the streets, which means not as many people are there to buy papes. Money gets scarce and it's not like any of them can afford a winter coat. Wintertime is chaotic enough as it is, but when you're a newsboy trying to juggle a forbidden relationship, the death of many friends, and the return of a psychotic family member? Yeah, things can get a little... destructive. Story length: 27,730 ------------------------------ THERE IS A BREAKDOWN OF THE MOVIE VS MUSICAL AT THE VERY END WHERE I JUST DISSECT THE MOVIE AND WHATNOT. IT DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO ME WHETHER OR NOT YOU READ IT, I JUST WANTED TO PUT IT OUT THERE. DISCLAIMERS: - These characters are not mine, they all belong to Disney (excluding a couple little side characters here and there) - The word 'queer' is used frequently towards the end. While I am fully aware that it is not always used as a slur, I just couldn't bring myself to have one of the boys say the 'f' word. (You know the one) - This is going to be a mix of the 1992 Newsies and the Broadway Newsies, so I apologize in advance if you get a little confused. I just can't decide which is better, but for some characters I can only see them as the 1992 version or the broadway version. - Main difference: The relationship is going to be Jack and Katherine, meaning that neither Sarah nor Denton exist. Sorry about that, but since they aren't the main focus of this story anyways, hopefully you won't change your mind about reading this purely on that. - I made the cover using pictures off of the internet so credit to Google Images

Although Celeste had a mother and a home, she was a Newsie, and liked to hang out with all of the boys. Her best friend's name is Jack Kelly, who has been with her for as long as she can remember. Celeste was content selling papes and running through the streets, until trouble arises and she and her friends must raise hell to fix it. I don't own The Newsies, just Celeste. But when the prices of papes go up, Brookie is forced to work in close proximity with people who could use her real identity to bring down the "Queens Empire." Will her identity be protected or will it all come tumbling out like the hair in her cap? And what happens if she starts feeling herself going soft for someone she could never be with? And this is an issue because Katherine Pulitzer has started to realize things. She always knew that she and her closest friend, Jack, were alike in many ways. One of these ways, though, is discoverable through the antics of Racetrack Higgins, who has issues. Issues such as Spot, who simply won't leave him alone. Or perhaps it's the other way around...in any case, Spot Conlon has feelings for Race, feelings he wouldn't have known were possible if it weren't for Kid Blink Baletti, who was kissing Mush in a closet. Yeah. In a closet. And Spot found him, which led to Mush Meyers feeling very nervous, because he shouldn't have been kissing Blink-it wasn't legal. This led to Crutchie Morris trying to fix everything between everyone, and everything just being one big, gay mess.
