Jaime Kelly, also known as "Books", is the leader of the Lower Manhattan Newsies. She loves her Newsies like they're her family. Every 8 Days she goes to see her best friend, Spot, the "King of Brooklyn". Everything seems to be going pretty normal until one day when she and her brother, Jack, start a strike against "The World". But what happens when memories of her past starts to resurface? And what happens when she makes a bet with " King Idiot" that in 8 days he could get her to say 8 letters? Note: ALL CHARACTERS MENTIONED IN THE 1992 FILM BELONG TO DISNEY. Jolynn Morris was the twin sister to Charlie (or Crutchy). They were both outcasts in Queens. Crutchy because he was a crip and Jolynn because she was his twin. But she's the best sister he could've asked for. And when they found the newsies, they took them in with open arms. She remains to the day, the only girl newsie. But, she couldn't care less. She often finds herself leading with Jack. When the Newsies find themselves on strike, she meets a fellow leader of Brooklyn. She finds him very interesting and can't help but stay away. And this is an issue because Katherine Pulitzer has started to realize things. She always knew that she and her closest friend, Jack, were alike in many ways. It was two months after the strike and she had found a ranch in Santa Fe for her and her brother. But on her way there she has some company from the Brooklyn newsies. And that's when she meets him. Spot Conlon. Is her brother finally ready to have the life he's always wanted in Santa Fe, or is their something, or someone stopping him? Will Kaitlyn and Spot become enemy's, friends, or something more?

Spot is a senior at Brooklyn High, on the track team, and on the football team. Living with his younger sister and rarely seeing their parents definitely isn't ideal but they make it work. Race is a senior at The World High school, in drama club, on the track team, and in marching band. He doesn't have the best past, with a dead mom and drunk dad, but he's finding a home as Medda's foster son. The two of them have never spoke but both have noticed each other here and there.
