Our now global species is facing three interlocking crises: ecological, psychological, and sociological. The ecological crisis manifests itself by global warming, the psychological by the prevalence of pornography with its concomitant nihilism and cynicism, and the sociological by disparate income distribution, war, and poverty. The neo-liberal global marketplace is a thin veneer for undeclared World War III. To resolve these crises we need to radically re-think the basis of our emergent global culture. In this book I begin the process by examining love in the context of Shakespeare. We need to have an understanding of reality that circumvents and supersedes capitalism, one that is in tune with fundamental reality, one based upon recognizing patterns of rhythmic vibrancy, melodic overflow, and ecstatic harmonics of Being -- in short the musicality of reality.
