In an alternate timeline after the events of Sonic the Hedgehog CD, Sonic had saved Little Planet from Doctor. Eggman and retrieved the time stones. What Sonic didn't know however, was the true capabilities of the time stones, they can warp to alternate dimensions. Sonic, of course, was none the wiser. Based off the SRB2 mod " The CyberDime Realm".
