The store was dark as I looked into the window. I guess I got here first. I pushed my key into the handle, but the door opened with out me even unlocking it. Very, very slowly, I stepped into the unknown. I walked to the other side of the blackened room, my heels clicking on the polished marble with every step. Sliding my hands along the back wall of the jewelry store, I felt for the switch. Finding something that was cold to the touch, the edge of the thing that protects you from exposed wires, I slide my hand a little further. A warm object encloses around my hand causing me to scream. I get swung around and I collide with a wall. Now my back is pressed against a wall, and a warm body is pressing into me. I gasp and get silenced by a metallic tasting object. The light gets flicked on by someone else, and a instantly regret coming to work even more now. I have the business end of a pistol in my mouth, the person on the other side, the safer side of the gun, laughs at my startled reaction. A deep laughter fills my head, causing my ears to ring. I know that laughter. I look at the person holding me to the wall. He used to be the manager here, but he got fired after an incident with another worker. I was promoted to manager after he was fired. My wide eyes travel up to his black ones. They were filled with an emotion that I couldn't decipher. He smelled so good, and I couldn't stop inhaling, mostly because I was scared shitless right now. "Well, I was hoping to shoot the bitch who got my job taken away, but I can't shoot my mate."
