Bucky picks up Steve's shield and fires at the soldier. The soldier fires again, sending Bucky flying out of the train. "James!" Eliza exclaims as Steve takes down the soldier. In 1940, Bucky Barnes is drafted to fight in Europe. He leaves behind his family and his girlfriend, Connie. Instead of sitting and waiting for the war to end, Connie decides to do something. She gets hired at the New York Bell Company as a switchboard operator and SSR agent.

After the SSR finds and apprehends a Red Room teen assassin, Peggy is charged with taking care of her until they decide what to do. This story will focus on the growing bond between Peggy and Lorna, and how Peggy will cope with suddenly finding herself with probably the most difficult mission she's had. BOOK 1 COMPLETED; RECENTLY UNDERWENT MAJOR EDITING Peggy Carter met Charlotte Rogers at a military base, the same one Charlotte's brother, Steve, was recruited to. Both of the girls were best friends and Agents at the SSR. During the war, they actually had some respect. Peggy fell in love with Steve. His closest friends- Charlotte, Peggy, and Howard Stark were all very sad over the loss of the best person they knew. They have a hard time getting over it, and things get worse when Howard is accused of selling weapons to US enemies.
