After losing Nationals, Abby decides that her team needs a bit of pressure put on them: Amelia and Max. He may not dance, but his brilliant mind is a dance force to be reckoned with. At 11 years old, he's a walking encyclopedia of dance knowledge, rival teams, and competitive weaknesses. He uses this knowledge to help Abby and Gianna create routines that are not only technically challenging but also designed to exploit the weaknesses of rivals like Erin Babbs' Murietta Dance Project and Jeanette Cota's JC's Broadway Dance Academy. While Spencer is tough on the moms, he's also a trusted friend to the dancers, offering them advice and a listening ear. This story is a look at the business of competitive dance through the eyes of the boy who is determined to help his mother make it better.
