Written for the Stairway to Another World story contest. Sound. It surrounds us and swallows us. However, despite its overpowering nature, when Katherine is pushed into a world world without sound, she realizes how desperately she needs it. With a nod to Simon and Garfunkel's classic, Katherine rediscovers speaking instead of just talking, and listening instead of just hearing. Whether harmony or dissonance, sound connects us to the world around us.

This is a thriller/ horror about a group of friends who discover a mysterious creepy stairway that leads to a horrifying place where all sorts of horrible things happen.

How terrible it is, if you love something that death can touch? How hard it must be to have that moment to happen. It happened to Alice Evergreen, and believe me it wasn’t beautiful. Rachel wakes up in the middle of the night. Not really strange, many things could have awoken her. Unfortunately, she can't fall asleep again so she has to find something to do or she'll die of boredom. Then things go wrong....very wrong. Ps. The cover was drawn by me.

A girl with memory loss found herself waking up in an unfamiliar hall. Within the big white hall, there is a gramophone playing classical piano music and what seems like a never-ending spiral staircase. With nothing else to do, she starts her nonsensical and bizarre adventure by venturing up the staircase. Will she ever find her memories back? Where in the world even is she?

At first the stairs were fine, but each time I would go back things got a little bit worse...

A short story about a girl and her sister that are haunted by their father's drinking habits. Their mother left them two years ago because of his abusive behavior. One day, the protagonist has a vision. Her dad is going to die tomorrow. Please leave feedback, this is my first ever story and im very curious to what people think and what i can improve. I made this in one day so it's not very long and detailed.
