The land of Alagrava is suffering under the tyranny of the shadow elves. The fate of the entire elven race lies in the hands of a human girl. And elves are dying off without magic. Ivy is beaten by her foster mom and is constantly seeking comfort from the warmth of the sun. She longs for the day she turns 18 and can get out of the house. At school one day, the strange new boy walks in. Nobody else notices anything amiss, but she can see past his glamour to what he really is. And it terrifies her. Because he is not human. It all started when the new kids came. Ayven Rye starts to notice things. Weird, strange, unexplainable things ever since the new girl and her two brothers showed up at her high school. Well I'm back here again, in this clear white room. My psychologist and I have been talking for a while now. She has been slowly dropping hints, well more like questions but I'm done with that now. "Skip the small talk and just ask what you really want to ask", I confidently say as I stare directly into her hazel brown eyes. "Okay then. Why did you attempt to kill yourself?", my psychologist asks as she fixes her glasses. "why you ask, well where should I begin?", the conversation ends for a while as we stare at one another. "How about the beginning", she says as she gets her pen and notebook ready. "Well it all started when I met her..."

There's a mysterious group called the Masked People around the world who have adopted orphans and train them to be better, stronger, and faster. They have never mixed with No-Masks. So what happens when they do? Join Wing Long-fang , his little sister Claw Stone-gaze, their best friend Hunter Tail-twitcher, and the rest of the Masked People as they try to their best to navigate the world, fit into school (and work), and tell the world that the strange can never be normal.
