Forbidden to continue travelling the universe by his own people, the Time Lords, and exiled to Earth in the late 20th century, the newly regenerated Doctor arrives in Oxley Woods accompanied by a shower of mysterious meteorites. The bus ended up taking her to California, where she met Max, Max and her became instant friends and Thirteen used her powers to persuade Max's parents to adopt her.
