The classic video game interpreted as a book, and so, so much more. --- Stanley's life is ordinary. It's the average of average. Nothing special about it. He goes to work everyday, pushes buttons, has a wife and kids and lives in an apartment. How much more boring can you get? But Stanley's life is about to take a turn -- for better or for worse -- when everybody around him ceases to exist. This is the Stanley Parable.

When you been through countless loops, pain, and being alone with the one person you treats you like a puppet, wouldn't you be at the very least be depressed? It's not like I can say much, hell- I can't say anything at all, I'm mute! Even if I wasn't, it's not like he'd listen to me. The Narrator doesn't care... I no longer want to be free... I just want to be dead.

(!!THIS STORY CONTAINS HEAVY TSP SPOILERS!!) This is a story of a man named Stanley. His life was completely fake. His wife wasn't real, his job wasn't real, he wasn't real, he was just a puppet, each string pulled carefully for him to do a small dance. Something to entertain him. He was born just to think for him. Because he was simply just too lazy. Stanley doesn't want to be a character in this game anymore, he wants to break free and actually live a normal life. But, there is one problem. The loading screen.

You are angry, and you are wild. But why wouldn't you be? being kidnapped from your very own house wasn't very nice, especially when all they would do is bicker about who you belonged to. As if you weren't even there! (Hello! Tired of being a shy, wittle baby in fanfics? Here, have a strong reader!)

This is the story of a person named Stanley. Stanley worked for a company in a big building where they were Employee #427. Employee #427's job was simple: they sat at their desk in Room 427 and they pushed buttons on a keyboard. Orders came to them through a monitor on their desk telling them what buttons to push, how long to push them, and in what order. This is what Employee #427 did every day of every month of every year, and although others may have considered it soul rending, Stanley relished every moment that the orders came in, as though they had been made exactly for this job. And Stanley was happy. And then one day, something very peculiar happened. Something that would forever change Stanley; Something they would never quite forget. They had been at their desk for nearly an hour when they had realized not one single order had arrived on the monitor for them to follow. No one had shown up to give them instructions, call a meeting, or even say 'hi'. Never in all their years at the company had this happened, this complete isolation. Something was very clearly wrong. Shocked, frozen solid, Stanley found themself unable to move for the longest time. But as they came to their wits and regained their senses, they got up from their desk and stepped out of their office.

The narrator gets replaced and Stanley starts to remember the narrator, attempting to break free from the endless cycle that is known as the Stanley Parable.

A short story I wrote for school. It is loosely based upon the Stanely Parable, but I added my own twist to it. I am unsure about some grammar and there may some errors, just a warning. Why did he need to defy me? No matter what, no matter how many times he died or failed, he wouldn't break. He wouldn't give up. He wouldn't listen to me. It was so pointless; it angered me. What purpose was there in it? To prove he could choose his own fate? What a fool he was. He would see. I would make him see. He couldn't control his fate, I did. He couldn't escape. He wouldn't escape. He would see. He needs me. [ TW: mentions of suicide, gore, I think you get the point. Also, the Narrator is a little crazy, so we have that too. ]

SPOILERS FOR THE STANLEY PARABLE: ULTRA DELUXE!! !!TW: SUICIDE!! Stanley gets bored one day, but he has no way of telling The Narrator that. So he just goes through a run to get to the Zending room to relax for a while and look at all the pretty colors. Maybe that'll cure his boredom. He hates what he has to do next, but he doesn't have a choice. Does he?
